VICTORIA HALL, KINGS CROSS - LEVEL 8

Stone Flooring
Keystone were delighted to be appointed as principle contractor and stone contractor on this prestigious project, working alongside The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) to create two separate garden spaces inspired by different regions of the Islamic world. Through contemporary landscape design, the two spaces in this building seek to capture the spirit of the gardens of southern Spain (Level 1) and Morocco and the Maghreb (Level 8).

On Level 8, the inspiration comes from the courtyard gardens of Morocco and the Maghreb, with pattern and colour creating a rich visual effect. Inspired by these extraordinary spaces, this garden uses a traditional mosaic pattern in a contemporary manner over walls, floor and seating. The mosaic arrangement is comprised of three different materials – Pietra Serena sandstone from Italy, Red Sunset sandstone from Spain, and Bretigny white limestone from France. The Bretigny limestone has also been used as a coping to the seat, as well as a border between the mosaic pattern and the brick facades.
