33 GRACECHURCH STREET

Facade
Our works comprised mainly of the supply and installation of new Portland facade to front and return elevations, including columns, window reveals, fascia and soffit. Keystone designed and provided all mechanical stainless steel brackets and restraint fixings, compiled cutting sheets and CAD shop drawings for the cladding works. At a later date, we adapted the front Portland facade to enable a new ATM to be installed.

We were also contracted to undertake facade cleaning to the existing Portland ashlar building to Gracechurch Street and Lombard Court elevations, and also to the highly decorative historic facade to Gracechurch Street and Lombard Street elevations. We utilised nebulous sprays water cleaning for both aspects of the facade.

Restoration works mainly consisted of weather proofing the exterior of the building. Any missing or defective joints were carefully raked out and repointed. A shelter coat was installed to the badly decayed moulded cornice at high level to prevent rainwater from running down the face of the building. All silicone pointing at interface between stone and windows was cut out and replaced with new. We also carried out some minor cosmetic plastic repairs to various areas of the facade.
